Beutel Goodman is one of the most respected money managers in Canada. Established in 1967, the company has a long history of providing discretionary investment counsel to clients across Canada managing approximately $26 Billion for First Nations, Pension Funds, Institutions, Foundations and Individuals. Our highly qualified investment team adheres to a consistent Value based investment approach to provide excellent long-term investment returns for our clients.
We specialize in working with First Nations helping them to attain their financial goals by developing investment portfolios based on each community’s unique requirements. For many First Nations the objective is to balance the needs of today’s members with the requirement to provide for future generations. An Investment Policy Statement incorporating these goals is created for each client and serves as the blueprint for building solid portfolios. Providing excellent long-term returns is our primary objective, however, we also believe it is important to ensure that our clients understand the path to success. For this reason, we provide education about the investment process to Chief and Council, Trustees and the community. This leads to strong mutual understanding and a solid partnership between the First Nation and Beutel Goodman. This, in turn leads to long term successful relationships and the achievement of the First Nation’s financial objectives.
Over the past 10 years, Beutel Goodman has made a significant commitment to aboriginal people and business.
Beutel Goodman has developed many mutually rewarding relationships with Aboriginal people, communities and associations. We are founding partners of the National Aboriginal Trust Officers’ Association (NATOA) and members of the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO) and the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association. We have had the privilege of participating in a number of Aboriginal fundraising and First Nations community events and we look forward to continuing our support in future. As noted above, Beutel Goodman offers investment education to First Nations clients and has also been involved in a number of Aboriginal workshops. We currently manage money on behalf of Aboriginal people in almost every province and territory across Canada and have been Level 1 Sponsors of the Aboriginal Trust and Investment Workshop each year since its inception in 2005.
Beutel Goodman is a proud contributor to the Beutel, Ridgewood, Rodgers Aboriginal Scholarship. This endowed scholarship provides grants for Aboriginal graduate students in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto.
